I just installed Vista on a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ120p. It went ok, but I seem to have lost the keyboard shortcuts for volume, etc that the notebooks have.
I installed a bunch of XP drivers from sony's site, for this notebook. Didn't get any warnings from Vista about them, so I assumed they would be ok.
Also, I installed drivers and software for the Vaio camera utility, but I don't see them in my programs menu.

Vaio lost keyboard shortcuts for volume, brightness, etc
File a report using the Feedback link on your desktop which contains links for feedback and reporting utility. Also contact Sony about support for these features of your notebook in Vista. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I have a different VIAO model (desktop VGC-RA101), and the keyboard shortcuts aren't managed by a driver, but by a program loaded from the RUN registry key. Possibly this is the case for yours, too. -- Pierre Szwarc Paris, France PGP key ID 0x75B5779B ------------------------------------------------ Multitasking: Reading in the bathroom ! ------------------------------------------------

Yes, I noticed it was a utility, which does not launch under Vista.

I have the very same problem with my Vaio. If the utility does not run at start up is there any way of running it once its booted, so that when i need to change the tv out i can do so - or is it something thats needs booting..?

AFAIK you can launch it manually, but you need to run it as admin. -- Pierre Szwarc Paris, France PGP key ID 0x75B5779B ------------------------------------------------ Multitasking: Reading in the bathroom ! ------------------------------------------------

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS930F, and installed Vista. Still can´t adjust brightness. I´ve read your comments but I'm no computer expert. Could you please be more specific about what should I do to regain control of my notebook monitor's brightness ? I would highly appreciate yor help.
